What is meant by CANSTAT ?

This means William is a member of the Canadian Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique, CANSTAT. He adheres to their code of ethics and carries insurance.

William is a graduate of the Toronto School of the Alexander Technique, class of 2005. This is a three year program, comprising more than 1,600 hours of practical training.

What is the Alexander technique (AT)?

Those who practice AT are learning how to learn. One might even say that AT makes you more talented. Lessons combined with practice (not as hard as it sounds) reorganize your brain in such a way that you begin to be able to learn without effort. These are skills which you can apply to any activity, be it cerebral, artistic or athletic.

Where’s the proof of that?

Like many of his fellow teachers, William now has talent to spare. He plays upright and electric bass with “Naty don’t mind”, a jazz/blues trio. He also plays piano and guitar. He teaches and gives workshops on the AT, in both English and Spanish. William also does custom design and carpentry in collaboration with Jen Hill Construction (where they still just call him Bill.)
